After years of informally studying the relationship between food and health, I completed a Master's degree in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics at Bastyr University in 2009; a premier school for natural health and wellness. My studies at Bastyr bolstered my beliefs in the power that the food we eat has on our health. Additionally, it grounded me with a scientific understanding of how to decipher the array of nutrition information thrown at us everyday. 

 

I love being a resource to those who desire a guide to a healthier way of eating and living. I have a passion for food and how it relates to the body. This passion encompasses how food is physically handled by the body, but also how we relate to food mentally and emotionally. I provide guidance for my clients to help discover a very individualized way of eating; something that can be different for every person. I encourage people to push beyond what they thing they are capable of, while also staying grounded in what will be sustainable and truly work for their lifestyle.

 

My yoga practice, which began in 1995 and evolved into becoming a teacher in 2005, greatly influences the way I approach Nutrition. Mindfulness is a key part of creating a healthy relationship with food and your body. 

 

Since my 200 hour training with Ana Forrest in 2005, I have been thrilled, humbled and deeply touched to work with so many incredible people. It is beyond special to be a guide to those who are brave enough to step onto the mat and journey within. To observe the healing of a physical body and the awakening of an emotional/spiritual one is a true gift. In my classes, you can anticipate gently being nudged to your edge. You can expect to feel a great sense of physical support and safety, while creating strength and flexibility. You will be asked to open your heart and have the courage to unlock your truth.

 

After getting married and having my two children, my nutrition and yoga practice have more greatly supported family wellness. I am passionate about the whole process of supporting a a growing family. Beginning with nutrition for fertility and conception, to prenatal yoga and birth preparation classes, to pediatric nutrition and helping a family to operate smoothly and joyfully in wellness. 

 

Wherever you are in your journey, I am here to be a guide. My wish is to meet you where you are and help you carve a path that is right for you.
